Easy to spot, as it is usually found in abundance in the wild, growing as mats of dense foliage and, producing dainty white flowers. Leaves can be used topically as a remedy for wounds and irritated skin. Fresh leaves can also be used in salads, like the Victorians used it, as well as cooked like spinach or juiced. Try infusing in bathwater to relieve itching. Internally, chickweed has been used by the Native Americans as an anti-rheumatic and as a remedy for respiratory illnesses. Plan to prevent spread as this herb has potential to be invasive!
