(Dang shen) Climbing vine also known as “poor mans ginseng”, as it shares properties with the rarer and more expensive true ginseng. Considered to be an adaptogenic herb, meaning it helps strengthen the bodys physical response to stress while improving energy levels. Shown to boost red blood cell count in animal studies, showing promise for anemia, shortness of breath, poor appetite, dyspepsia, and fatigue. A strong immune stimulant, as a contributer to the St. Francis “Deep Immune” formulation. Sweet tasting roots can be eaten, added to soups or brewed into a tea! Thrives in partial shade in light sandy soil but is tolerant to richer soils as well. Germination 14-28 days.
