Nugget Hops
Humulus lupulus 'Nugget'
Uses: Medicinal/Beverage/Industrial Duration: Perennial (hardy in zones 3-8)
Strong bitter hop for stouts and ales. It is an important high alpha bittering and flavoring variety in the US and in Germany. The lupulin is high and of a good yellow-orange colour. Nugget is a superior variety for picking, drying and baling. It has a cluster cone structure that is heavy, tight and moderately long. Introduced in 1982, it is a diploid cross between Brewers Gold and a high alpha-acid male with good storage properties (USDA65009 X USDA63015M). Alpha acid 12-14%.
