Woolly Lavender
Lavandula lanata
Uses: Medicinal/Aromatic Duration: Perennial (hardy in zones 8-10)
When to Sow: Spring/Anytime Ease of Germination: Moderate
One of the most unique and rare varieties we carry, highlighted by bright violet flowers that create a beautiful contrast to its dense white woolly foliage! This variety is commonly found at altitudes over 1000m in the mountains of Spain. Plant in a sheltered sunny spot in well drained alkaline sandy soil, ideally in a raised bed or rock garden as it is prone to root rot if conditions are too wet. Perfect for borders, rock gardens and containers. Bloom time mid-late summer. Height up to 1m.
