(Lesser calamint) With clouds of of dainty flowers, this compact, bushy perennial is a culinary favourite in Tuscany where it grows wild, offering a distinctive minty flavour to mushroom and artichoke dishes. Foliage bursts with its pleasant aroma when brushed. Studied for its antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties. Thrives in full sun in slightly alkaline, dry to medium well drained soil in beds and borders, containers, cottage gardens or rock gardens. Makes a great ground cover herb that will attract bees! Blooms for up to 6 weeks and flowers become deeper in colour as the weather cools down. Height 30 cm.
