I am a small farmer from Chile growing St John’s Wort organically, I do this together with a friend and we both are worrying a bit about the chrysolina bug. It has not arrived yet to our place but we want to be prepared when it does. Can you please help us with some advice on how to deal with these bugs in a organic way? If there would be a way to get in contact with an organic grower of St John’s Wort in your half of the Americas that would be also great because here down south we are the only organic growers of this herb so there is not much experience to be exchanged here.

There is no information available on how to control the Chrysolina beetle using organic methods. Possible controls include rotenone dust, pyrethrum spray, diatomaceous earth dust, and insecticidal soap.
