I was wondering if you could recommend books for the following interests.

I have experience using medicinal herbs for asthma and the immune system but I bought them. Now I am going to grow them: I need help in growing the plant from seed and knowing how much and what part of the plant I need to use for my asthma. I have used the following herbs in the past; mullein, ephedra, astragalus, licorice, ginger, primrose oil, nettles, in conjunction with quercitin, B vitamins, etc. I also went to a herbalist who gave me chinese herbs. I had some success but it was very expensive and I couldn’t keep up.

Here are a few books that cover growing your own herbal remedies. All are available from Richters. Go to the online catalogue at to order.

"Herbal Remedies, Dozens of Safe, Effective Treatments to Grow and Make" by Kathleen Fisher (item B5118)

"Herbal Remedy Gardens: 38 Plans for Your Health and Well-Being" by Dorie Byers (item B5125)

"The Herbal Tea Garden" by Marietta Marshall (item B5150)
