Dolly Basil Plant Dying Answered by: Inge Poot Question from: Anne Posted on: August 29, 2012
Two to three weeks ago I purchased 7 herbs. I planted them together in a large container with soil I purchased from Richters. All the other herbs are flourishing except the basil, which is dying. It is planted in the centre next to rosemary and orange mint. What should I do? and why would it be dying?
This type of basil does best out in field conditions, that is full sun and room on at least two sides. Your plant is being crowded out by the other plants. Give it its own pot and after it has gotten over the transplant shock gradually move it out into full sun.
