Daughter has tendinitis of the feet. She has to work on hardwood floors. She wears shoes with cushioned insoles. Has to be on her feet most of the day and night and has 3 small children to support. Is there anything she can do or take to help with the problem?
Tendinitis is inflammation of a tendon which may be caused by injury, strain or by inflammatory disease.
Siegfried Gursche, in "Encyclopedia of Natural Healing" (Alive Publishers, Canada, (800) 663-6580 or Natural Life Publishing Inc., U.S. (800) 663-6513) recommends the following:
A diet high in raw fruit, vegetables, whole grains, nuts and seeds to speed healing.
Vitamin C with bioflavonoids, vitamin A and E to help repair the tendon and reduce inflammation
Evening Primrose Oil to help reduce inflammation
St. John’s Wort to relieve pain and calm the nerves
A tea made of any combination of horsetail, devil’s claw, burdock, centaury and yucca, to relieve tension pain, neutralize uric acid, stimulate circulation and reduce inflammation. Add one teaspoon of this herbal mixture to a cup of boiling water, steep covered for 15 minutes.
Spread a mixture of ground fenugreek seeds and milk on the affected area to reduce inflammation.
At night place a cloth that has been dipped in cold-pressed wheat germ oil on the affected area and cover with a dry linen cloth, to reduce inflammation.
