What kind of herbs can you take for a low sex drive?

Ginseng, Damiana (Turnera diffusa), Saw Palmetto and Oats (as a juice or alcoholic extract) are recommended to stimulate the libido. Sexually stimulating aromatherapy preparations that can be used in a massage are Ylang Ylang, Patchouli and Jasmine.

James Duke, in "The Green Pharmacy", St. Martin’s Press, 175 Fifth Ave., New York, N.Y. 10010, reports on research that has shown that the smells of cinnamon in hot cinnamon buns, pumpkin and nutmeg in pumpkin pie, and lavender stimulate blood flow to the penis. A 6 month study showed that 60 to 240 milligrams a day of a 50:1 Ginkgo extract (50 pounds of ginkgo used to produce one pound of extract) improved erections in half of the men studied, by increasing blood flow to the penis. Other herbs reported as useful are anise, cardamom and ginger.
