I am a 23 year old that has tried clomid to gain pregnancy. Someone advised me of a herb called ‘Vitex’ to help this process along. What is the Vitex function? Is it safe to continue the clomid with the Vitex? The results of all my infertility testing basically says I do not ovulate.

Vitex agnus-castus balances the release of sex hormones from the pituitary gland. It is useful in treating symptoms of hormone imbalance such as pre-menstrual or menopausal symptoms, irregular periods, ovarian insufficiency, acne. Because it stimulates progesterone production, it must not be taken with drugs containing progesterone.

Your mental, physical and emotional health play a role in menstrual cycle function. You can help with: 1. a healthy, whole food diet that is high in fruit and vegetables and low in fat. No coffee, alcohol or smoking; 2. looking at any stress or negative feelings in your life with the aim of developing a healthy mental environment; and 3. spending as much time as possible outdoors, in a natural environment.
