Fenugreek Use in Breastfeeding Answered by: Susan Eagles Question from: Name not given Posted on: February 8, 2002
Can fenugreek cause increased bleeding if you use it after having a baby? Sometimes it is recommended by lactation consultants to increase milk production in nursing moms.
Fenugreek is contraindicated in pregnancy, but not in lactation. It is best to use a combination of herbs in teas to support lactation. For information on herbs for breastfeeding, please see our website at http://www.richters.com. Choose "Q&A" from the main menu, then choose "Search Richters Q&A", and enter the word "breastfeeding" for the search.
