I recently started taking an herbal supplement said to aid weight loss. I had my doctor look it over, and he said it seemed to be okay to try it, but obviously correct eating and exercise were the best road to take. Anyway, I tried looking up the herbs in your index and can’t find them, can you halp me? Here are the ingredients:

Mineral Pitch/Shilijit - (gum) 450 mgs.

Proprietary blend 750 mgs

Dried Extract:

Tribulus Terrestris (fruit), Boerhaavia diffusa (root), Cardamon (fruit), Commiphora mukul (gum), Emblica officinalis (fruit), Terminalia chebula (fruit), Terminalia belerica (fruit).

Excipients: Magnesium sterate and cellulose.

Your advice and information on these would be greatly appreciated.

This is a formula from the Ayurvedic herbal tradition of India. We carry tribulus, emblica (it’s listed as "myrobalan" in our catalogue), and cardamom, so you can read a bit about them in our online catalogue at http://www.richters.com. For the others, I am afraid that it would take us quite a while to do the research to answer your question. In any case, we do not comment on proprietary formulas sold by other for legal reasons. I suggest that you contact the manufacturer of the product for details about the properties of the individual herbs in the formula.
