Herbal Liver Support with Interferon

My mother has chronic Hepatitis C. It was contracted in the 80s while she was having surgery to remove her pancreas. She is currently being treated with interferon drugs, but her liver counts continue to rise. What herbs do you recommend for her condition? Would these have any adverse affect on her current drug therapy? Any information you could offer would be greatly appreciated.

Milk thistle, which supports the liver, can be safely taken with interferon. Liver support is especially recommended while a patient is taking drugs. The usual dose is 500 mg of a standardized extract, taken with the evening meal. The liver is active at night, so this is when liver supportive herbs are most effective.
