Is there a herb I can use for estrogen instead of estrogen therapy. I am 50 years and had a hysterectomy done.

First of all, it is not necessary, nor recommended from a holistic stand point, that you take estrogen, natural or otherwise. If you are experiencing symptoms which you are being told that estrogen would relieve, then there are other ways to relieve these symptoms than with hormones or herbs that affect or mimic those hormones.

The change of life, either naturally or surgically induce, is a normal change in life that all women will go through at some point in their lives. There is no need to take a drug or herbal supplement for a natural event. However, some women experience symptoms during this time of change that are uncomfortable or even down right unbearable, but to try to treat the symptoms rather than the root cause can prolong the symptom period thus making one need to rely on products either natural or synthetic for much longer than would be necessary.

Ever wonder why some women go through menopause with flying colours and do not skip a beat whilst other women are plagued by terrible hot flashes, night sweats, mood swings and more? Or ever wonder why men can get hot flashes, night sweats and mood swings? It is not because their ovaries are not producing estrogen any more! The reason is hormonal all right but it is not because of their estrogen. It is true that hormonal swings of all types are more sensitive during times of the change of life but again, the root needs to be addressed.

The real reason, or the root cause of menopause discomforts, are from a stress responses and then as a result, blood sugar fluctuations. This in turn causes blood sugar hormones to go into a swing which then affects affects other hormones and the need for ingestion of more hormone building nutrients. Sounds complex, but it really isn’t. As a result, the natural way to treat menopausal symptoms are to use herbs and food that help your body cope better with stress as well as herbs and food that helps to keep the blood sugar levels regulated.
