I bled way too much the first week of May with big clogs regardless that I just have finished my period on April 23. My doctor put me on progesterone 300mg and estrogen to be taken before I go to bed, even thought it makes me sleepy, I want to know if taken herbs be better for me. I have been taking these medications together with bio-thyroid 19:4.5mcg for 3 months and the only thing that I seen is that I gained more weigh that I don’t need.

You need to address the underling cause of the heavy bleeding rather than taking meds that attempt to cover up the symptoms. The fact that you are needing to take a thyroid medication along with the large clots, leave me questioning the state of your adrenal glands and the amount of stress your body may have gone through over the years. Essential fatty acids (fish oils, walnut or flax seed oils)and lots of minerals and vitamins in the diet provides one with essential building blocks for proper hormone production including stress hormones, blood sugar regulating hormones, thyroid hormones and reproductive hormones. Stress and poor digestion function or intake can greatly affect whether we have the necessary building blocks for normal hormone function.

Fibroids are the result of imbalanced hormone function due to either poor digestive elimination and elimination of excess hormones or due to poor hormone production and balancing. Diet is very important as is regulating the subtle and undetected, via blood tests, blood sugar fluctuations.
